Evening Walk with the Ricoh GRII

Patrick Chondon March 17, 2018

Just before I left the house for my walk I almost took my Nikon D750 with me but I decided on my trusty Ricoh GRII instead. I knew I wouldn’t be able to get my usual shallow depth of field shots that I capture with the Nikon primes, but the Ricoh forced me to shoot in a completely different way. Plus, it’s extremely small and fun to use.

So with my camera in hand I set out with no real destination in mind, just the way I like it. I did end up just weaving around the neighbourhood looking for interesting things that caught my eye.

After about 20 minutes I noticed the sun was fading behind me so for the majority of my walk I was following the light, looking for shadows.

One of my favourite things about the little Ricoh is  the macro ability. Even with my Nikon’s I always love getting in close.

It was great to get out for what seemed like my first real walk of the year, due to the cold winter we had here. I hear it’s supposed to be even warmer today.
