I have been making it a habit to go for photo walks right after I drop off my wife Anne at work in the morning. This time of year is perfect to do that because the sun is just coming up around 8:30am and it’s not too cold, yet. Plus, it feels so great to just get outside and explore. I find photography so relaxing, and it takes my mind off all the other stresses in life. Plus, it often helps me procrastinate even more, once I get home, because I want to immediately develop my photos. Well, maybe that’s actually a bad thing, but I digress.

Trow Bridge park was my destination this morning. It was a relatively gloomy day, which I absolutely love. It is by far my favourite type of weather to shoot in, which I have mentioned probably a hundred times in this blog. The camp ground was obviously not being used, but that meant that there was no one around. I was the only one there walking around aside from a random jogger here and there. I find I meet more elderly people walking on my photo walks in the morning, because we are the only people out that early.

I used my Canon R paired with the 50mm 1.2. My favourite combo. I have photographed this park many times before so it’s always a challenge looking for new compositions but that’s part of the fun. Plus the weather and lighting always provide different photos, if you know how to work a scene.

It was a nice relaxing photo walk and I actually came away with some of my favourite photos of the last couple weeks.
